I have taken part in a Build a Page on our FB Group Home and Scrapped. These are fun and over the 7 days, 7 ladies do one step each a day and we create a page. It is so much fun to see all the finished pages and out individuality shining through!
It is a bit like following a recipe! These are the steps if you would like to create a page.
Step 1 – Using a piece of 12 x 12 cardstock please apply a stencil (or stamped) background to the right-hand side using at least half of the size, probably most will end up covered, I love a background with ink or paint showing.
Step 2 – Take a piece of background patterned paper about 8-9 inches square (no need to be precise). I tore mine against a ruler to give a rough edge but you can leave yours as a straight cut, punched edges or distressed. Ink if liked.
Carry a little of your Step 1 stencilling, inking or stamping over the edge of your pp. for continuity.
Place centrally, toward the left-hand side of your cardstock.
Step 3 – You will need a 6.1/4 X 4.25 solid cardstock, round off the corners, put in the centre of the 9 x 8 paper. use a landscape photo, also round off the corners of the photo. leave a 1/2 inch on the left side of the cardstock to add 4 pearls. Place the photo on cardstock, then make 3 banner strips and centre that under the matted photo.
Step 4 – Place a strip under the photo that extends across the page. Add a cluster of items to suit your page in the lower right corner of the photo.
Step 5 – In the top right place a 2 layered tag with a cut-out in the bottom. Write on a tag… very simple.
Step 6 – MY STEP – Add a little washi tape, ribbon or whatever you have in three areas to ground your layout. I have used the banner washi in a triangle to catch your eye. You can also do a little free hand doodling on your layout or use a ruler if preferred with a black pen
Step 7 – Add a title and some journaling on a tag if possible, also if you can remember could you add the year the photo was taken.
Above is my finished page. I added a title with some Thickers and I added a tiny bit of journaling on the bottom,
This was so much fun to create and I actually scrapped a page, which I haven’t done in a few weeks. I have been mucking around with my art journaling. I have started making a couple of new altered ones.
