“DIY Distress Tools”!

Happy Monday Everyone,

I have had the day off and I have a shift this Evening so I thought I would show you a little project I have been working on over the past few days!

I have made my own  DIY,  Distress Inking tools, with some stamp blocks that I have kept from changing some of my wood mount stamps to cling.

To start you will need some disused  wood stamp blocks, some Ranger Ink foam pads and some Hook and Loop Velcro. The blocks are great as they have the comfortable grip on them also.  I am sure you could get some wood left overs from your local hardware, sand them and use those too 🙂

I cut the hook and Loop to the size of the stamp block and adhered it. I then did the same thing with the other part and measured and cut it against the foam pad. I then stuck them together on the block to make the Distress tool!

As I wanted to make one foam for each colour of my SU Inks and Distress Inks I used both sides of the block. This also saves to find space to store them also 🙂

Above are my Stampin up ones and I have made one each for 16 colours to start with.

These are my Distress Ink Tools and I have made one of each of my 32 inks.

You can see in the photo above that I used one of them today. The tool gave me an awesome distressed coloured edge on a card I am creating for a customer. I hope you might have a go a making your own Ink Distress Tools. I would love you to leave me a comment 🙂

Happy Stamping

Kerri x
